Which documents should I check before buying?
At a minimum: 1) the Certificate of Title in the seller's name; 2) a recent Certification of Legal Status (liens and encumbrances); 3) the cadastral plan and the survey (deslinde) approved by the Cadastre; 4) property tax (IPI) paid up at the DGII; 5) for pre-construction, the building permit, environmental permit and trust agreement; 6) if CONFOTUR is offered, the valid resolution. If one is missing, do not sign until it is resolved.
