How do I vet a developer?
Visit projects they have already delivered and talk to the owners if you can. Check that the project has a building permit, environmental permit and surveyed land title, and ask who the trustee is and which bank or builder is behind it. Be wary of pressure to pay fast or of guaranteed returns with no contractual backing.
