Can I use my property whenever I want if it is rented out?

With direct rentals, yes: you block the dates you want on the calendar. In a rental pool or condo-hotel there are usually limits on owner days per year and rules for booking them in advance. Check those conditions before buying if you plan to spend time in your property.
