How is tourism doing in the Dominican Republic?
At record levels. Between January and August 2026 the country received 8,556,415 visitors, 6.9% more than in the same period of 2025, according to the Ministry of Tourism. 2025 closed with 11.7 million, and the official goal for 2026 is to exceed 12 million. More visitors means more demand for accommodation, one of the drivers of vacation rentals.
