Does buying property give me residency?
Not automatically, but it can help. The Dominican Republic offers investor residency to foreigners who invest at least USD 200,000 in the country, with a foreign investment certificate, according to the General Directorate of Migration. There are also residency options for people with passive income and for retirees. Requirements change: confirm them with an immigration adviser.
