Does the buyer pay the real estate commission?

In the vast majority of transactions, no. In the Dominican Republic the real estate commission is normally paid by the seller or the developer. As a buyer, your main costs are the price, the transfer tax (unless a CONFOTUR exemption applies) and legal fees.
