What is the Amber Highway (Autopista del Ámbar) and how does it affect value?
It is a highway of about 35 km that will connect Santiago with the Puerto Plata–Sosúa road and cut the trip from the Cibao region to the north coast to about 30 minutes, according to the Government. It was awarded in July 2026 for more than RD$28 billion. Better access from Santiago and its airport tends to increase demand in the connected areas, although the effect on prices is not guaranteed.
